About Me

Lili (she/her), Age 41, Pisces, Loves both cats and dogs.

I have been working in the field of nutrition for the past eight years. I have been working with food in one way or another since 2009. I hate cooking! And I believe it makes me a better dietitian.

I am currently enrolled in a fertility awareness mentorship in order to complement my work with PMOS/PCOS clients. I take a special interest in offering these services to ‘older’ prospective parents and those using donor sperm, that can most benefit from being efficient in timing conception attempts. (Both of these categories were me!) I believe this information is useful to everyone trying to concieve (TTC) or understand their menstrual cycle better.

My ‘official’ credentials are below.

Credentials and Education:

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (licensed in Washington, DC, MD, IL, Certified in NY)

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist

MS in Nutrition, CUNY Hunter College, 2016

BA in Environmental Policy, Bard College, 2007

Approaches to Care:

HAES:

I am a member of the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH), an organization that promotes health equity for people in all bodies. The organization advocates for those bodies that have faced healthcare discrimination through the Health at Every Size® principles. I encourage my clients to come to me if they feel discriminated against in a healthcare environment due to their body size. If you need someone to speak with your healthcare provider about changing the way they handle your care, I will personally make that call on your behalf. To find out more about my approach to health and diet, please take a look at my ASDAH listing.

That said, I will not be assessing your measurements - no heights, no weights, no measuring tapes. These things do not help you to build a good, sustainable relationship with food, eating and your body. Your lab values and how you feel are a lot more meaningful.

Gender Affirmation:

I strive to create a safe and educated space for my trans clients. See my Outcare listing.

Functional Medicine:

I often recommend foods and supplements that have research-backed benefits, but that your conventional/allopathic care team may not currently be working with. In some cases, when conventional testing has been exhausted, I may recommend functional lab work or stool testing. I try to be judicious with these recommendations.

I find that often what is considered ‘functional medicine’ is simply a nutrition-first approach to care.
